Viral Video: Failed NPA Attack at Mawab CAFGU Detachment - January 2012

A video of rebel forces called New People's Army/ CPP-NPA attacked a CAFGU Detachment in vicinity SUMIFRU compound in Barangay Tuburan, Mawab, Compostela Valley Province was gone viral after posted by unknown source in Youtube.

According to news, the said incident took in January 15, 2012 where six members of the NPA got killed and soldiers recovered various high-power firearms with no casualty as concerned civilian in the area alerted the CAFGU members regarding the planned attack of the NPA.

More or less 20 NPA were on board a stolen dump truck when the 15-minute attack occurred. Other NPA members including the leader ran for their lives after the incident. Accordingly, SUMIFRU did not heed to the NPA’s extortion demand.
