A photo of Davao's Mayor Rodrigo Duterte chatting with a group of gays comedian has made rounds in social media.
Did the father of the city had done something wrong? Or the sensitive scene was just made for a joke segment?
Netizens claims that the said photo is edited or fake.
But upon initial examination, we can say its not edited.It appears very authentic same as the remark of Even Demata, a known journalist.
According to Demata, the said picture was taken during the Balita FM Grand launching in Davao City on March 14, 2014.
Following the full story posted at Ang Balita Davao, the Mayor was indeed one of special guest who graced the said event.
According to the said post, the grand launch’s ribbon cutting was headed by Mayor Rodrigo Duterte along with tourism undersecretary Art Boncato, Davao del Sur governor Claude Bautista, Compostela governor Arturo Uy, and It’s Tiu’s Day host Atty. Geraldine Tiu.
To celebrate the grand launch, a street party was said held at Rizal Street. The band Daybreak entertained the crowd with its rhythmic cover of the latest music. They were then mesmerized when the Rangers fire dancers performed their fiery dance. Not to be outdone, the city’s top comedians ticked the crowd with their out of this world performance, Ang Balita Davao said.
Duterte had been saying all the time that his a public servant and an open-minded leader that willing to talk, listen to any body for good. In fact he even to talks to NPAs most of time about peace then, how much more with gays?
