Groom Commits Suicide by Hanging Few Hours Before His Wedding - Koronadal City

KORONADAL CITY - His family were in depth shock after, a 29-year-old farmer named Reynold Batiao was found hanging on a rubber tree outside his home in Sitio Taplan in Barangay Buto in Koronadal City, South Cotabato around 5am on Fri, May 29.
The Tampakan town police chief said on Brigada News FM Koronadal, that Batiao was set to wed his long-time fiancée, identified only as Jane, at 10am of the same day.
Witnesses say that Batiao was seen smiling before going to sleep on a hammock outside his house at 3am. But, at 5am, he was found hanging on the rubber tree.
The family of the victim believes that the cause of his suicide is due to trauma.
The report added that the victim is a survivor of 2009 Super Ferry tragedy in Zamboanga enroute from General Santos City to Iloilo.
Meanhile his cadaver will undergo an autopsy, police said.
