New People's Army Turn Over PF Khen Subere (POW) to Mayor Duterte

Mayor Duterte is our hero of poor soldiers.

According to NewsDeskAsia, the New People's Army group safely released their recent prisoner of war (POW), a soldier from T’boli, South Cotabato.

Private First Class Khen Subere was released to Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, according to a flash report over 105.9 Balita FM. Duterte will turn him over to officials of the Eastern Mindanao Command in Davao City

Subere, who was assigned to the 27th Infantry Battalion, was taken by the NPA in April  in Barangay Dumangas, T’boli, South Cotabato. The soldier, a member of the army’s peace and development program team, was suspected of spying for the government.

Before he was released, his family appealed for the suspension of military operations against the rebels. The army refused this request, saying they will not negotiate with the rebels.

The NPA confirmed that they have abducted the army last week with the release of an audio clip to prove that Subere is still alive, 95.7 Brigada News FM Koronadal exclusive report said.

Subere informed his family that his in good condition, able to eat three times a day and respected by the rebel group as a captive.

Ka Efren, a rebel leader, said Duterte has gained the confidence of the rebels because of the previous releases of POWs.

“Why we always seek Duterte’s help is because we have confidence in him,” said Ka Efren.

Subere is the latest POW released through Duterte since January this year. The jail warden of Compostela Valley Province, Jaime Coquilla, was released in January after he was taken by the rebels in December. Duterte was also present during the release of three cops in Surigao del Norte in February, NewsDeskAsia said.

Meanwhile,  Lt. Colonel Ronald Jess Alcudia commanding officer of the  27th Infantry Battalion of Philippine Army clarified  that Subere is no longer a legit soldier considering he made an AWOL (Absence Without Leave) before NPA took him.
