Newly Invented "Smart Condoms" Can Reveal if you have STDs

A group of teens age 13 to 14 invented an smart condom.According to DailyMailUK, this condom is different for it changes its color if a person is infected with Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD).

Muaz Nawaz, Daanyaal Ali and Chirag Shah from Isaac Newton Academy in London, at the young age are the inventors of the said condom.

The condom will turn green the person using it has chlamydia, or yellow for herpes, violet for human papilloma virus and blue for syphilis which could help to cut the spread of the illnesses.

The said students won the first prize award in the Health and Teentech Awards, a competition that encourages the youth aged 11 to 16 years old to create inventions that would help the world.

Daanyaal Ali, 14, from Isaac Newton Academy in Illford, who was part of the team to come up with the idea, said he hoped the condom would make people more aware of STIs and more willing to seek treatment.

He said: 'We created the S.T.EYE as a new way for STI detection to help the future of the next generation.

'We wanted to create something that makes detecting harmful STIs safer than ever before, so that people can take immediate action in the privacy of their own homes without the invasive procedures at the doctors.

'We've made sure we're able to give peace of mind to users and make sure people can be even more responsible than ever before.'

They won 1, 000 London dollars and a trip to Buckingham Palace.

Although the said condom design is still a concept product, the public hopes that it would be released in the market.
