#WalangPasok : DepEd Class Suspensions for Thursday - July 9, 2015 Due to Heavy Rains/Flash Floods

Due to the effects of Typhoon 'Falcon' and Southwest Monsoon or Habagat in the country, respective Local Government Units (LGU) has declared classes suspensions particulary in NCR.

State weather forecasters on Wednesday warned residents of Metro Manila and nearby areas in Western Luzon to be wary of heavy rains and flash floods even though no storm warnings have been raised.

The no class suspension advisories was posted on social media last night via DepEd page.

As of 10 p.m., Falcon (international name Chan-Hom) was estimated at 1,400 km east of Aparri, Cagayan, with maximum winds of 130 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph. It is forecast to move west-northwest at 20 kph, and may enhance the Southwest Monsoon affecting Luzon and Western Visayas.

Occasional rain may be expected in Western Visayas, while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms may prevail over the rest of the country, Pagasa said.

PAGASA warned fisherfolk not to venture out into the seaboards of Northern Luzon and the western seaboards of Central and Southern Luzon.

NO PUBLIC STORM WARNING SIGNAL ISSUED so far.
