How to apply DOST Scholarship 2016

Good news! DOST opens scholarship to third-year college students.

The Department of Science and Technology-Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) is now accepting applications for the Junior Level Science Scholarships (JLSS) program starting July until September 9, 2016.

Jennifer Fernandez, the science research specialist of DOST-Pangasinan, said the scholarship aims to strengthen the country’s science and technology education by fast-tracking graduates in the sciences, mathematics and engineering courses.

Qualifications


To qualify for this scholarship, an applicant must be a natural-born Filipino citizen;

  • An incoming regular third-year college student in an identified priority science and technology (S&T) courses for the school year 2016-2017
  • Has a general weighted average of at least 83 percent or its equivalent in his/her first and second years in college
  • Must be of a good moral character and in good health.
  • Must also pass the DOST-SEI’s JLSS examination which will be administered at designated centers on October 16 this year

Documentary Requirements

a. Accomplished JLSS Information Sheet (Form A)
b. Accomplished Certification re-Course and Year Level
(Form B)
c. Accomplished Agreement to Return of Service (ROS)
Conditions (Form C)
d. Photocopy of Birth Certificate
e. Certified True Copy of Grades for first and second-year levels

Benefits


Qualifiers will be entitled to the subsidy in tuition and other school fees, monthly living allowance, book allowance, among others.


Where to Secure / File Application

Application forms are downloadable through www.sei.dost.gov.ph and www.science-scholarships.ph or may be obtained at the nearest DOST regional offices or provincial science and technology centers.

Accomplished form can be filed at the Science Education Institute, or DOST Regional Office nearest to applicant’s school or home address.
