Applications Now Open for 2019 Government Internship Program

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Home Development Mutual Fund (PAG-IBIG), National Youth Commission, and Department of Public Works and Highways are now accepting applicants for the Government Internship Program (GIP) for the calendar year 2019.

If you're a College graduate and have not been a beneficiary of the Government Internship Program (GIP), bring your resume and visit their regional offices!

Department of Social Welfare and Development (# of slots to be announced..)

Qualifications:

1. Open to individuals who are 18-25 years old, college level and high school graduates.

2.TESDA Certificate holders or Alternative Learning System certificate holders or holders of any similar certificate issued by the Department of Education or Commission on Higher Education.

3. Members of the PAG-ASA Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP), youth beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, and youth included in the Listahanan identified poor family will also be prioritized.

Interested applicants may apply at the DSWD Central Office in Batasan or at the  DSWD Regional Office nearest them

Your application is still subject for shortlisting as part of the whole hiring process. Personal appearance is required for filling out the application form. Deadline for submission of your filled-out GIP application forms will be on MARCH 19, 2018. Examination and Interview is on MARCH 21, 2018 for shortlisted applicants.

Qualifications: 

1. At least High School Graduate or Voc-Tech Graduate;
2. Between 18-30 years old;
3. No work experience; and
4. Individuals up to 35 years old may be accommodated as beneficiaries under exceptional circumstances, specifically in areas that are hardly-hit or stricken by disasters and natural calamities, such as typhoon, earthquake, and the like, including those man-made calamities.

Requirements: 

- Transcript of Records for college students or Form 137 for high school graduates, or
- Certificate of Graduation in case of voc-tech graduates; and
- Certificate of Indigence from the Barangay.

Conditions: 

o Salary is 75% of the existing minimum wage of the region where the beneficiary will be employed.
o Employment period shall be for a minimum of three (3) to a maximum of (6) months.
o Beneficiaries my be re-admitted for another period of six (6) months upon the recommendation of the partner institution.

Such recommendation contains:
a) performance rating or evaluation of the intern
b) needed skills of the intern for enhancement
c) intent to hire the GIP as a contractual, temporary or regular employee, subject to the willingness of intern and applicable Civil Service Rules and Regulations.

- The acceptance of the application for the 2nd Batch of Government Internship Program (GIP) CY 2018 will start on March 5 - 9, 2018
- Applicants must be 18 – 25 years old and should not be previous beneficiaries of the program from NYC or other GIP implementing government agencies.
- Applicants who will be accepted will be assigned at the NYC head office located at 3rd Floor, West Insula Building, 135 West Avenue corner EDSA, Quezon City.

There are two ways to apply:

Qualifications/Requirements:

1. College students or out-of-school youths with a minimum of second-year college education;
2. Must be a first time GIP participant in the DPWH;
3. Eighteen (18) years of age on the date of Internship (April 4) but not more than twenty-three(23) years old;
4. Knowledgeable in MS Word/Excel;
5. One (1) Photocopy of Birth Certificate
6. Fully accomplished Bio-Data or Personal Data Sheet;
7. Two (2) original copies of 1”x1” recent ID pictures;
8. Must have passed the written examination; and
9. Must participate in full time in the Government Internship Program.

Government Internship Program or GIP is a component of KABATAAN 2000 under Executive Order (EO) no. 139 s. 1993, which aims to provide opportunities and engage young workers to serve the general public in government agencies/entities projects and programs at the national and local level.

The main objective of GIP is to provide young workers, particularly the poor/indigent and young workers, opportunity to demonstrate their talents and skills in the field of public service with the ultimate objective of attracting the best and the brightest who want to pursue a career in government service, particularly in the fields and disciplines related to labor and employment.

For the 2018 nationwide implementation, the GIP has a fund allocation of P10,565,400 for the stipend of accepted applicants enough for 30 working days of service.
