Kabang's Face Reconstructive Surgery was Successful

The hero dog, Kabang lost her upper jaw and snout when she got in harm's way to save two young girls in Zamboanga City from being run over by a motorbike in 2011. While the girs were unharmed, the dogs face was totally ripped off and concern individuals feared the her health will get compromised if not treated.

Animal lovers and Karen Kenggott, founded the care for Kabang had raised over $20,000 (roughly P815,000) for Kabang's surgery and flight to the US.

And last Macrh 28,2013 after undergoing 5 hours of surgery, the Oral surgeons " successfully removed two upper fourth premolars, repaired a cracked front tooth and rebuilt her missing left eyelid," the report said.




Quoting Rob Warren, the UC Davis hospital's communications and marketing officer, the VPN article described Kabang as an ideal patient.

“She's receptive to everyone, and no matter what we put her through, she wags her tail," Warren said.

Before Kabang go major surgery she were treated for
genital cancer and heartworm disease.

After being declared tumor- and heartworm-free, she was given the go-signal to undergo surgery.

She is now recovering in the hospital's intensive care unit.
