2012 AFC Challenge Cup after winning last Tuesday (March 26,2013) the final game of the 2014 AFC Challenge Cup Qualifiers Group E, 1-0, at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.

Both team are scoreless during the first half of their clash though Stephan Schröck, the new recruit, have attempted to score from Phil Younghusband pass but he was blocked by Turkmen defender.

Stephan Schröck continued to press the play and was at the center of everything the Philippines did offensively. Finding Phil Younghusband from the left wing with a low pass, the Philippines’ top scorer could only tamely hit at Alyhanov with his left foot.

After several close goals earlier, The Fil-British striker had finally found the net at 67 minutes after Turkmen defense collapsed, leaving the keeper with little chance to clear the striker’s attempt paving the way to score 1-0.Younghusband, also spearheaded the win against Cambodia with four goals last  March 22.

Unfortunately for the Philippines’ top international goal scorer with 33, Younghusband got sent off in the 85th minute after getting booked with his second yellow card.hris Greatwich and Rob Gier were also issued with a yellow.(That means those players be unavailable for the first game of the Challenge Cup group stage in 2014)

But the Azkals defense player like Fil-Danish Dennis Cagara maintains held the ground well, making the Turkmens unable to overturn the 1-0 lead, making Azkals victorious and topping the Group E for the first time and qualifies the Philippine Azkals to join the main tournament in Maldives  year 2014.
